About Lactation Care

After working in the mother-baby field for over two decades, I am constantly inspired by what mothers and health care organizations can achieve. Melanie, for example, came for help with her baby who was routinely unhappy saying, “I don’t want to give up, but I don’t think I can do this anymore”. Her challenges are real, as she describes her situation amidst tears.

We figure out what is going on and I give her recommendations and ongoing support. Between visits Melanie follows through. After a few weeks her problems resolve, and her baby is content. In sharing how thankful she is, she said, “I don’t think I could have done that without your ongoing calm and compassionate approach”.

It’s important to seek specialists when you have particular needs. This is true for parents as well as health care organizations and health care professionals too.

There were times after the birth of our children when we also needed timely, skilled support. We looked to knowledgeable professionals and healthcare organizations that knew how to support breastfeeding and infant feeding best practice.
